1. What natural disasters mostly affect our country and what are some of their consequences?
It all depends on the time we are in, Colombia has two seasons that prevail and they are the rainy season and the hot season.
- From January to date, 330 forest fires have been registered in five departments and 170 municipalities, as well as 16,821 hectares affected, reported the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management.
- The tragedy experienced by Mocoa, the capital of the department of Putumayo, due to the overflow of the Mocoa, Sangoyaco and Mulatos rivers, which so far has left 166 victims, more than 200 injured and countless homeless people, recalls once again the episodes that the country has experienced due to the force of nature.
